How to install VLC from source code?

Debian:
apt-get build-dep vlc
apt-get install libxcb-composite0 libxcb-composite0-dev
./bootstrat
./configure
make



Fedora:

cd /tmp
git clone git://git.videolan.org/vlc.git
cd vlc
./bootstrap
./configure
make

Note: if failes you can skip like i did
./configure --disable-mad --disable-avcodec --disable-swscale --disable-postproc --disable-a52
